• Welcome from the Principal Pablo Fiene:

  As the principal at McCollam Elementary, it is my privilege to be part of a community focused on ensuring excellence for all our students:  emotionally, socially and academically.  In partnership with our families, we are committed to providing a 21st Century learning environment for all our students, to ensure that best practices, strategies, and approaches are being used to bring about an optimal learning environment for every student.

McCollam Elementary provides a learning experience for all our students which supports their development as scholars and citizens. Students will be part of a learning environment which has been acknowledged for its academic excellence on both the local and state level.  We challenge our students in a caring and respectful learning environment that develops their full potential academically, socially and emotionally. Our instructional program incorporates a Balanced Literacy approach, with a focus on differentiated small group instruction to meet the individual learning needs of each student, along with Project Based Learning which supports deeper student learning as students apply what they have learned in the classroom to solve real world problems.  Through Project Based Learning students have been involved in real-life learning experiences from helping animals in our community thrive to identifying funding sources to support families in need. 

We offer a variety of extended learning opportunities for students including the Springboard Reading Program, Think-Together After school extended care, Counseling Services, and more!
